Collective Haul- Brookes Edition

Over the past few weeks, I've picked up a few random pieces that I thought I'd share.
At Priceline, I repurchased the Bastiste Dry Shampoo in Blush, picked up a Rimmel polish in 'Double-Decker Red' (love that name), two Sally Hansen polishes (post here) and the Garnier BB cream for sensitive skin. I wore the Rimmel polish two weeks straight and wanna wear it next again! Its just a stunning red. I have also been enjoying the BB cream for a quick fix in the morning.

At target I picked up another bottle of my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, as they had reduced the entire range. This makes me worried that Target are discontinuing the sale of Bourjois products, I hope not because I love this foundation! Saying that, it was half price! I saw that the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks matte range had *finally* arrived here and got colour 107, which I've been wanting forever after seeing it on Zoella. Target also had a sale bin with random things in it and I grabbed a Australis lipgloss in Lambada.

Finally my local Myer also had a sale bin and I stumbled across this Elizabeth Arden blush in Sugar Plum and snatched it up as it reminded me of Nars Douceur. This blush is SUPER pigmented, been loving.

Hope you enjoyed,

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine - Chanel Peridot dupe?

After Darcie picked up a couple of Sally Hansen nail polishes in a Priceline sale and told me there was one that looked like Chanel's Peridot, I quickly snapped up two myself. Peridot is a shade that was extremely sought after a few years ago, and even until this day, easily accessible 'dupes' hadn't come out here in Australia. I lusted over the shade for a million years then totally forgot about it until now.

Priceline was having a 'buy one get one free' deal on the new collection, so what better time to buy and try? As soon as I saw the bottle I thought it looked pretty much exactly the same as Peridot. The name is 'Plume' and I tried it out immediately. With one coat I was slightly disappointed at the sheerness, but with two-three its excellent. It is VERY similar to Peridot, and I say that if you wanted it, check out this shade. Its truly duo-chrome with pretty shimmer. Looking at pictures of Peridot, I'd say the only real difference is that the gold in the Sally Hansen is a bit warmer, almost coppery, and it has more shimmer, but it really adds to the metallic finish. In both these polishes, the colour really depends on different lighting and the angle of view.

The second shade I got is also the same that Darcie picked out a deep blue called 'Azure'. I couldn't chose which colour I wanted to try first, so I ended up applying 'Plume' to my left hand and 'Azure' to my right. This blue is truly stunning. It's deep, but still 'bright', it really stands out. I would describe the colour as a shimmer-filled indigo/violet.

Something I have noticed with these polishes is the wear time. A week later, these polishes are almost chip-free, a huge deal for me as I struggle to get polish to last a good 3- 5 days.

If you see these around, definitely pick one up, highly recommend.

The Sunday Manicure: Polished and Pretty

Speech-presenting worthy nails. That was my goal today. Tomorrow I will be presenting an oral for one of my classes and I thought if everyone's going to be looking at my nervous hands gripping cue cards, they might as well be pretty. Besides you always feel better when you look the part ;)

If I have the time, Sunday is when I will do the full monty mani. I start by soaking my hands in warm water for a few mins, then I apply a hand and nail cream, trim, buff and file my nails. Then a quick swipe of nail polish remover for a clean slate and I begin painting. I use OPI Nail Envy because my nails are quite weak, followed with 2-3 coats of  todays choice, OPIs Bubble Bath and finish with Revlons top coat. Once they're dry massage in Burts Bees cuticle cream. Wa la!

I love a baby/pastel pink nail and the three I've tried so far are below. I like them all but I am still on the hunt for more! Essies Fiji is next on my hit list.

Enjoy the post!

Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Dazzle 010 | The Review

About a month ago Brooke and I were walking through Myer in the Bourke Street Mall when I saw this gem of a nail polish, Dazzle 010 by Revlon. Dazzle is one of Revlons relatively new nail polish collections called 'Brilliant Strength' which I have tried a few of and I REALLY LOVE them!! The colour options are amazing I had a very hard time deciding what colours to buy as they are all so gorgeous, but once I saw 'Dazzle' I new it was one that I HAD to buy.

The first thing I thought of when I laid eyes of 'Dazzle' was that it reminded me of a shimmer eyeshadow, the tiny holographic glitter and shimmer within the nail polish remind me of a shimmery glittery eyeshadow! It is truly a unique and special light pink colour with slightly peach coloured undertones. 'Dazzle' applies so smoothly and the wide, slightly rounded shape of the brush make the application super easy. I have worn 'Dazzle' alone but it took three descent coats to become opaque, so this time I decided to use another light pink polish underneath. First I used OPI's 'Natural Nail Base Coat' and after it had dried I used one of my new favourite light pink polishes OPI's 'Langham Love'. I applied one coat of 'Langham Love' and waited for it to dry. I then applied 'Dazzle', which took about 2 coats to achieve its full amazingness! I finished my nails off with the Revlon 'Multi Care Base+Top Coat 965' which gave a super glossy, beautiful finish to my nails. I would definitely recommend 'Dazzle 010' from Revlons Brilliant Strength Nail Enamels, it is such a beautiful colour!!
