YSL Volupte Sheer Candy 5 Mouthwatering Berry review!

I had seen so many people talk about the YSL Volupte Sheer candy lipsticks and I really wanted to try them. The packaging alone is extremly tempting and the whole concept of a moisturising lip colour that was more on the sheer side was interesting.

I wasn't planning on buying one anytime soon, but then I went to Melbourne Central shopping centre for some retail therapy, strictly for some new winter clothing essentials. But, I had to stop by Mecca Maxima (if anyone doesn't know, Mecca Cosmetica is similar to a Sephora or Ulta, but not as big). While browsing the shelves and thinking to myself how much cheaper these products would be in the states (haha), I came across the YSL stand. I adore how luxurious the packaging is for YSL products, it makes applying  your makeup so much more glamourous.

I was looking at the lipsticks and started swatching the Sheer Candy line and there were so many colours that I loved. I especially liked shade number 5 'Mouthwatering Berry', which is a deep, sheer berry, hence the name. I thought it would be perfect for not only winter but summer too. I looked at the price and it was $49, and I was actually pleasantly suprised. For a 'high end' brand like YSL, I was expecting well over $50. I decided to bite the bullet and get it and I'm really happy with my choice.

I don't really like to buy 'drug store' makeup to often, especially lipsticks because they are extremely over priced for what they are. For example, a Revlon lipstick can be between $18 to $25, and considering MAC lipsticks are $36, I would rather spend my money on something thats worth it. Most of the time, I prefer quality over quantity. So, this purchase was definately a luxury but I love it so much and will get more colours, maybe for christmas? haha.

So that was my long story, now the review! I LOVE this product. As I said before the tube is incredible, silver and gold metal, with the colour in the centre. Its quite heavy too. The product is smooth, sheer, but still really pigmented if that makes sense. The colour is really flattering and gives the lips a juicy, berry injection of colour. You could say its a more intense 'my lips but better' kind of shade.

Its really moisturising and as it wears off, it leaves a pretty flushed stain on the lips. It doesn't enhance the dry spots or the cracks in the lips either (my pet hate!).

Overall, I can't say enough good things about this product and if you ever feel like treating yourself, I suggest you check these out! Every girl deserves a little luxury in her life! ;)

Love, B x

Nails: Butter London, Knackered

Recently I have really being liking Butter London Polishes, so when i made an order on Adore Beauty I new I couldn't checkout without a Butter London Polish in my cart! I decided to chose the color called knackered, FleurDeForce mentioned this on her blog a while back I thought it was the most amazingly gorgeous color!  Knackered is a duo-chrome, holographic polish with hints of glitter! Depending on the light the polish can either look a lavender color or a greeny color!
Although once applied this polish is gorgeous, it does take a lot of coats and hence a long drying time as the polish is incredibly sheer. The polish applies smooth and I experienced no Streaking!  I used the Revlon Quick Dry Base coat as a base coat and the as a top coat I used Sally Hansens Insta-Dri Top coat.  By using this top coat it does help quicken the drying time and creates a clean. glossy finish! I would definitively recommend trying out knackered, even though the drying time isn't the quickest, the amazing, unique color that you get in the end is totally worth the wait!  Love D! x

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector review!

Ok, so I'm a lip balm girl 99% of the time unless I'm going out somewhere special and want to wear a bit of lipstick. But I usually steer clear of lipglosses, becuase my lips dehydrate really fast and lipgloss just seems to accentuate the dryness. Also a lot of glosses have shimmer to them which I'm not a fan of as they also tend to make my lips look dry and makes the cracks look worse. None that I've tried seem to look flattering on me at all. However, being the Youtube addict I am, I'm constantly finding out about new beauty products. So I was watching one of my favourite YouTubers of all time Barbara, and she recommended the Clarins Lip Perfectors and they're also a staple for another one of my fav YouTubers Vivianna. So esssentially I couldn't restrain myself and went to my local Clarins counter at Myer and picked up 01 (pink) and 03 (nude/dark peach).

I got home and tried them immediatly and well, it was love at first application ;). They are smooth, hydrating, shimmer/glitter free and have the perfect amounf of pigment (sheer). 03 is a perfect shade that gives the lips a natuural nude effect and 01 is a pretty pink which gives a rosy glow. They are sheer but they do exactly as the name suggests! Natural, and lip perfecting! They don't accentuate dryness at all and are moisturising! And the scent is a sweet muted vanilla, love it! The packaging is gorgeous with the tube matching the colour and a chic gold cap.

I will absolutely 100% repurchase these when I run out and judging by how much I use them (everday!) that will be soon! I'm considering picking up all three colours next time!
Pictures and swatches below!

NOTD: Butter London, Teddy Girl

I was on a misson to find the perfect creamy pink polish to wear on an everday basis. I have been disapointed with sheer formulas and I wanted something that was opaque! Then one day I was watching one of Tiffanys videos and she was wearing a gorgeuous, pastel pink. It turned out she was wearing Butter Londons Teddy Girl. I knew I had to pick it up but was worried the brand wouldn't be available here. Luckly, there a few stockists and I went with Adore Beauty. Now I must admit, when I first applied it I was disappointed. The first coat went on streaky and thought I had just wasted my money yet again. But I persevered and continued on, the second coat was better but still a bit streaky, so I went for a third and it turned out to be the colour I was hoping for! To get a nice finish you have to work with it a bit. I recommend using a good base coat and doing three, thin coats then a top coat! Even though its not the easiest polish to apply, I still absolutley love it!! The colour is
perfect and I would definitely purchase it again (unless I find something else more amazing-I hear esssies Fiji is good?).  I also LOVE the Butter London packaging! I have a few other polishes by Butter London (so does D) which we also adore, so if you want to see them let us know! Pictures below!

MAC Casual Color: Lip and Cheek Color in Relaxation

I recently made a MAC purchase online and of course I purchased the product I'd been craving since the Casual Color Collection was released: The Casual Color Lip and Cheek Color in Relaxation!! I love this product ! It is a really pretty dusty pink / cool mauve color, which looks great on both the lip and cheek! It really looks natural and 'casual' when wearing it on both the lip and cheek. I really love wearing Relaxation as a blush as it looks very natural, it just gives you that  light and natural flush of color! When wearing it on the lips it is the perfect light pink, it is not to dark or light and goes really well with my skin tone.

The formulation is really creamy and when wearing it on the lips it keeps them moisturized and soft. I was worried that when wearing Relaxation as a blush it would leave my cheeks looking shiny/oily, but that wasn't the case at all! I stayed really well on my cheeks and just left a natural look with no shine!! I just can't get over how natural and light this product feels! I can definitely see my self just wearing Relaxation as a blush and lip color, with a tad of mascara, I'll be good to go! I would definitely recommend buying a Casual Lip and Cheek Color, I really want to pick up some more!  It is definitely a perfect product for those 'Casual' days!
